The original Chianti opened in 1985 in Light Square and spent over a decade building a loyal following and an incredible reputation in the Adelaide hospitality scene. In 2000, Maria and Frank Favaro set out to pursue their vision of a fine dining Italian restaurant, buying and refurbishing a site in Hutt Street and transitioned their casual trattoria, Chianti to the fine dining, Chianti Classico. Now celebrating it’s 21st year of trade in this location, and with their children Jess and Nick now at the helm, Chianti continues to evolve, whilst always maintaining a focus on quality food, wine and service. In addition to the a la carte restaurant, Chianti also offers two private dining rooms for more intimate occasions and corporate events.
